In the summer of 2020, I took an online experiential workshop with Robert Moss called Goddesses of Rebirth. We learned about a number of goddesses and their mythologies, and journeyed into dream-like states to weave our own personal mythologies through and around those of the goddesses.
I created this SoulCollage® card from one of my journeys, and called it “Dancing the New World Into Being.” From the card, I wrote:
Does the seed need to know what it will become?
Or does it simply trust the blueprint encoded within it to guide it, trust the sun to warm it, trust the rain to water it, trust the compost to feed it?
Perhaps its blooming is all the more beautiful for the surprise and wonder of becoming something beyond its imagining.
I do not need to plow the field or seed it.
I am not the gardener, but the garden.
The Goddess has already planted the seeds within me.
May I be the garden. May I become the bloom.
Today, this card comes back to me and I see it in a new, more universal light. Not a personal journey story, but a global rebirth story. For a new world is being born, although we may have little concept of what form she will take, and even less control over how and when she will arrive.
In these most unsettling of times, as the old world shakes and crumbles around us, can we hold on to the hope that the seed, already sown, needn’t know what it will become?
Can we simply trust in the blueprint that has already been encoded? Can we embrace the wonder of a new world becoming something beyond our imagining?
Can we become the garden, embracing and nurturing the seed of the new world within the rich soil of our own hearts? Can we be still and faithful and trusting as we await the bloom to come?
